 Re: Transfer rumours thread.
Well, Sol Campbell wasn't put off of wearing black and white stripes for long, then.

Theres bigger teams in the Championship than Round 1 of the Europa League (besides Liverpool) What trophies did they win last season? What trophies can they win this season? 60,000? Wern Celtic getting about 30,000 last season? Whats to say he'll even play? Why is it the better SPL players are jumping ship to the Championship (mostly Boro)? I really dont see there being any comparision between the two leagues and hasnt been for a few years now

 Re: Transfer rumours thread.
Ben Arfa's agent says his future will be decided in the next ten days. French press saying it's pretty much between us & Werder Bremen.
Also been linked with Arevalo who played for Uruguay during the World Cup. Can't say I noticed him.

David James has signed a 1 year deal with Bristol City
Sami Khedira looks like signing for Real Madrid for about £15million

 Re: Transfer rumours thread.
only thing i can think of with James is maybe they've offered him the chance of moving into coaching once his career's over, thats a mad move to make otherwise.

I was hoping Chelsea would go for him. We desperately need a number 2. Cech with injurys these days he would have played in some top games this season too.

 Re: Transfer rumours thread.
Liverpool's new left back is.......their old left back, Fabio Aurelio.
Smart move by Hodgson actually - Aurelio is a good footballer (when fit) and I guess we'll sign another left back before the transfer window closes.

 Re: Transfer rumours thread.
Optimistic Nut wrote: Lives there apparently. Or nearby. David James lives in Devon, so Bristol is probably about an hour's drive I would think. I actually think it's a good move for David James and quite a coup for Bristol City. They are a very ambitious club, they have a chairman who wants to get them in the Premier League within 2 years, playing in a new stadium and seemingly has the finance to enable them to move forward, plus they also have a manager proven at Championship level in charge of them. From James' point of view he is not having to uproot his family which he obviously would have done had he gone to Newcastle or Celtic, but it is also a great challenge to end his career with, trying to be part of bringing top flight football to a big city in England that has gone 30 years without any top flight representation. I can see Bristol City being right in the promotion mix in the Championship this season. I'm sure there are more signings on the way, plus they have also retained the services of Nicky Maynard who was top scorer in the Championship last season.
